bpm changer

Change the tempo of any song without touching the pitch, free, with the BPM detected for you.

change tempo without changing pitch

Most tempo changers ask you for a percentage and leave the math to you. This one runs the same detector as our key and bpm finder on your track, shows the current tempo, and lets you set an exact target: 128 for a house set, 140, 174, or anything in between. DJs use it to fit a track into a set, producers to audition a different groove, and dancers or teachers to practice at a slower tempo that stays in key.

Preview responds live while you drag, and the finished version downloads as mp3 or wav. Everything runs in your browser and the song never leaves your device.

common questions

how do I change a song's bpm?

Drop the track in and its current bpm is detected automatically. Type the bpm you want, or tap one of the common values, and the speed is worked out exactly. Preview plays live, then download as mp3 or wav.

why doesn't the pitch change with the tempo?

The stretch engine processes tempo and pitch independently, so slowing a 150 bpm track to 128 keeps it in its original key instead of dropping it flat. That is the difference between a tempo change and simply playing a record slower.

how far can I stretch before it sounds bad?

Within about 75 to 150 percent of the original tempo the result stays clean on most music. Beyond that transients start to smear, which is true of every time-stretcher, and the tool warns you when you are in that zone.
