guitar tuner
Tune your guitar, bass or ukulele with your mic free, accurate to the cent, with nothing recorded.
a tuner that behaves like the app you already like
Press start and play one string at a time. The tuner hears which string it is, the needle swings to how sharp or flat you are, and the note turns green with a little blip when you land inside five cents. Every peg on the headstock is tappable: hear a reference pluck, or lock the tuner to that string when the auto pick guesses wrong on a very detuned instrument.
Tunings cover standard, drop D, half and full step down, drop C, DADGAD, open G, D and E, four and five string bass, and three ukulele tunings, plus a chromatic mode for anything else. The pitch engine is the same detector as the vocal pitch monitor, running on the raw mic signal, and it is octave-blind on purpose so a low E read an octave up still tunes correctly. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
common questions
is an online guitar tuner accurate?
Yes, within a cent or two, which is tighter than most clip-on tuners. Accuracy depends on a clean signal: pluck one string, let it ring, and keep other strings quiet. In a noisy room, lock the string with its peg.
how do I tune a guitar by ear with this?
Tap a peg to hear the reference pluck, then play your string and match it. The needle tells you which way to turn: right of center means tune down, left means tune up.
does it do drop D and half step down?
Yes. Pick the tuning from the menu; the pegs update to the new notes. Drop D, drop C, D standard, half step down, DADGAD, open G, open D and open E are all included, plus bass and ukulele.
why does it show the wrong string?
Auto mode picks the closest string to what it hears, so a string tuned very far off can register as its neighbor. Tap the peg of the string you are tuning to lock it, then tap again to go back to auto.
