piano ear training
Train your ear on a piano: find the key, name the interval, name the chord. Free, scored, no signup.
ten minutes a day is how ears get built
Which key is a game of hearing one note and tapping it on the piano. Start with white keys only and a reference C before every note, so you learn to hear distances first; turn the reference off later and you are training absolute pitch. Level three widens it to two octaves. Which interval plays two notes, one after another or together, from the easy five up to all twelve. Which chord asks major or minor first, then all the triads, then sevenths.
Every answer shows the right key in green and your miss in red and plays the correct one so the mistake teaches you something. Streaks and your all-time accuracy per level are kept on your device.
common questions
can you learn perfect pitch?
Adults rarely develop true absolute pitch, but almost everyone can get very good relative pitch, which is what actually matters for playing and writing. Start with the reference C on, then take it off as you improve.
what intervals should I learn first?
Perfect fifth, octave, major and minor third, perfect fourth. That is level one here. They anchor everything else.
is this good for producers?
Yes. Hearing intervals and chord qualities is how you find a sample's key by ear, write a bassline that fits, and tell a major seventh from a dominant seventh without a plugin.
