Solid outline on the wheel: safe, mix any time. Dashed: bolder, a real lift when the two tracks get along.

harmonic mixing in one picture

Harmonic mixing is the DJ habit of moving between tracks whose keys are musically related, so basslines and melodies blend instead of fighting. The wheel encodes the whole theory: numbers step through the circle of fifths, the inner ring is minor and the outer ring major, and any move to a highlighted wedge is safe.

Use it with our key and bpm finder: analyze your library there, then plan transitions here. No signup, nothing uploaded, and the wheel works offline once the page is open.

common questions

what is the camelot wheel?

A map of all 24 musical keys arranged so that neighbours sound good together. Every key gets a code, like 8A for A minor, and mixing between adjacent codes keeps the transition harmonic instead of clashing.

which keys can I mix together?

From any key you have four safe moves: stay in the same key, go one step clockwise for energy, one step back to cool off, or swap the letter to switch between the minor and major of the same notes. Two bolder moves also work when the tracks allow it: two steps clockwise (the classic energy boost) and the diagonal, one step around plus a letter swap, like 8A to 9B.

how do I find the key of my track?

Use our key and bpm finder: drop the file in and it returns the key with its Camelot code. Then come back here and see what mixes with it.
