mic test
Test your microphone online in seconds: live levels, waveform and playback, nothing leaves your device.
Live waveform, level meter and honest quality checks. Your voice never leaves this device.
check your microphone before it matters
Whether it is a stream, a call, a podcast or a vocal take, the worst time to find out the mic is wrong is afterwards. This test shows a live waveform and level meter, flags clipping, low level and a noisy background, lets you pick between input devices, and records a clip so you can hear yourself the way others do.
Everything runs in your browser. Your voice is never uploaded, stored or sent anywhere.
common questions
how do I test if my mic is working?
Hit start, allow the microphone, and speak. If the waveform moves and the meter reacts, the mic works. Record and play back to hear exactly what other people hear, which catches problems a meter cannot, like a muffled or distant sound.
why does my mic sound quiet or distorted?
The meter tells you which one it is. Peaks near 0 dBFS with the clipping warning mean the input gain is too high; a level that barely moves means it is too low or you are too far from the mic. Aim for peaks landing between about -18 and -6 dBFS while speaking normally.
what does listen to yourself do?
It routes your mic straight to your output so you can monitor yourself live. Use headphones: on speakers the mic hears its own output and builds into feedback within seconds.
is my voice uploaded anywhere?
No. The audio is analyzed and recorded entirely inside your browser and never leaves your device, which you can verify by loading the page once and then testing with the internet disconnected.
