noise that is actually pleasant

White noise is equal energy at every frequency, which sounds like hiss. Pink noise falls off gently with frequency and is what studios use to tune rooms and speakers. Brown noise falls off faster and sounds like distant surf or an airplane cabin, which is why it is the one people sleep to. All three here are generated fresh, in true stereo when you want it, so nothing loops audibly.

The low and high cut shape it into fan, rain, cabin and focus presets, the timer fades it out slowly instead of stopping dead, and downloads render up to 30 minutes with exactly the settings you hear, as a small mp3 or a lossless wav to loop in any player.

common questions

what is the difference between white, pink and brown noise?

Volume per frequency. White is flat and bright, pink drops 3 dB per octave and sounds balanced, brown drops 6 dB per octave and sounds deep and soft. For sleep most people pick brown, for masking speech pink, for testing gear white or pink.

is brown noise good for sleep?

Many people find it easier to sleep to than white noise because it has little high-frequency hiss. Use the sleep preset and a timer; the fade-out is deliberately slow so it never wakes you.

can I download ten hours of it?

Downloads go up to 30 minutes because a browser holds the whole file in memory. Loop it in your player; the noise has no seam.
